Founder & Executive Director

Anya Stevenson

Anya is a dedicated leader and visionary committed to empowering youth and families in Richmond, VA. With over ten years of direct experience working with high school students and a proven track record in nonprofit leadership, Anya combines a passion for education, mental wellness, and community care with entrepreneurial expertise.

As the Founder and Executive Director of the VOWS Foundation, Anya has spearheaded initiatives such as the cares closets, community care days, and workplace readiness programs. Anya’s approach focuses on providing under-resourced youth with opportunities for education, mentorship, and family support to help them thrive personally and professionally.

With a Master's degree in Social Work in progress and previous degrees in Business Administration and Finance, Anya bridges the gap between strategy and service, creating innovative programs that leave a lasting impact on the Richmond community.

Vice President

Jessica Herod

Jessica Herod is the Vice President for the VOWS Foundation, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a deep passion for volunteering, particularly with youth and community service. With over six years of hands-on experience working with kids, Jessica finds great fulfillment in positively impacting the lives of young people. Her background also includes a nine-year tenure in the Army Reserves, where she played a key role in leading and developing soldiers through various training exercises. This diverse set of experiences reflects her strong leadership skills, commitment to service, and dedication to making a difference in both the lives of individuals and the broader community.

PrepWorks Director

Kimberly Green

Hi, I’m Kimberly J. Green, a Henrico County, Virginia native and Founder of PrepWorks Academy. With a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and two Master’s degrees in Teaching and Executive Leadership, I have over 20 years of teaching experience, specializing in Algebra and mathematics education. My passion lies in empowering students to achieve the impossible and mentoring new teachers to foster growth in education. PrepWorks Academy was created to address unmet needs in education, focusing on foundational skills through engaging games, communication, and homework support. Our mission is to help students build confidence, develop critical thinking, and ignite a love for learning.

Outreach Director

Renee Puckett

Renee has over five years of experience mentoring, guiding, and supporting youth ages 3–10 through activities like coaching, counseling, and organizing programs to foster their personal, academic, and social growth. Her work involves building confidence, developing skills, and creating safe spaces for expression. Renee bridges the gap with youth by understanding their unique challenges, tailoring support to their needs, and fostering meaningful connections. As an Outreach Director with over a decade of experience, she effectively manages resources, coordinates efforts, and ensures tasks are executed smoothly to meet organizational goals. Renee's empathetic approach helps youth feel heard, valued, and guided toward personal growth.
